SHILLONG: In what may be the first such instance in the State, Tura will be hosting the next Cabinet meeting of the Meghalaya government. “With the objective of taking governance closer to the people, the government has decided to have Cabinet meetings on a rotational basis in different districts,” Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted on Sunday. The Chief Minister also informed that the Cabinet meeting for the first time will be held in Tura, on June 10, and others districts will follow. It may be mentioned that all these years, Cabinet meetings were held in the State Secretariat in the capital, Shillong.
