Night curfew in West Jaintia Hills extended from tonight till further orders

Shillong: With Covid-19 cases ticking up in West Jaintia Hills, the District Magistrate has extended the Night Curfew in the District from 22nd September until further orders. It will be in force from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM every night.

In order to curb further transmission of the dreaded virus, Garod LSN Dykes, District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills, decided to extend the night curfew to put in place the preventive measure, mitigation measures and to take more stringent steps.

Security forces, medical teams on duty, wholesale and retail pharmacies, police and armed forces, fire & emergency services, electricity services, media, petrol pumps and other essential services are exempted.

Online food delivery will be exempted till 10.00 pm.

As per laid down protocols, drivers and attendants of the vehicles shall be subject to medical screening.

Curfew passes for timings falling between 9:00 pm to 5:00 am with effect from September 22, 2020, until further orders can be obtained via online application at the official website (www. megedistrict.gov.in/ westjaintiahills.gov.in).
