Ninth Mile CRPF camp free of COVID: Inspector General S Upadhya

SHILLONG: There are no CRPF personals based in Baridu at 9th mile located along the Assam-Meghalaya boundary who have been infected with coronavirus. But around 100 of them who have come into contact with those infected with the disease have been sent for quarantine, said the CRPF.

Allaying fears that the men posted in the frontier headquarters could have been infected, Inspector General of the CRPF, S Upadhya told The Sentinel over phone on Thursday that there are no indications but those who have come into contact with them have been sent for quarantine.

"All officers and other ranks who came in touch with them right from the airport to the place of detection, are being strictly monitored as per the protocol", stated the IG while iterating that the six of his men who are now in Gauhati Medical College are well and fine.
