‘No Fund Crunch in State’, Says Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma

Shillong: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the State is not in a financial mess, even as he spoke about the delay in receiving Central funds. Speaking on the sidelines of an official function held in Shillong on Friday, the Chief Minister said that there is stability with no fund crunch in the State. “We could not acquire the funds from the Centre because the Union Budget had not been passed.” The State’s financial position is stable but as you know we are dependent. Eighty percent of our resources come from the Union Government and we generate the rest”, Conrad said. He further said that there are certain financial flaws that needed to be rectified ahead of the inflow of the Central funds into the State.
