North East NCC inter-group competition organized at Umroi, Shillong

SHILLONG: Combined annual training camp and Inter-group competition for NCC Directorate, North East Region is being conducted under the aegis of NCC, Shillong at Umroi Cantonment from October 28 to November 4. The opening address was delivered by Brigadier PM Bali, Group Commander NCC HQ Shillong. Around 500 cadets from eight NCC Gp HQs of seven States of NE Region are participating in the inter group competition.

The camp is being conducted with the aim to develop a spirit of comradeship, discipline, team spirit, leadership, character building, self-reliance among the cadets. Selected cadets will represent North Eastern Contingent at Republic Day camp in New Delhi.

Various competitions are being conducted on drills, firing, weapon handling, Guard of Honour, cultural items, flag areas among others.
