SHILLONG: The People’s Democratic Front (PDF) has further announced the names of candidates to contest both the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) scheduled for February 27.
In the list of candidates, the PDF has announced the name of Amanda Annette Pakyntein, wife of Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Banteidor Lyngdoh, to contest the council polls from Mawkynrew Constituency.
The other candidates announced by the party include Macdalyn S Mawlong from Umsning Constituency and Teilinia S Thangkhiew, MDC of Mylliem Constituency. Patboone Syngkli’s name has been chosen from Nongpoh Constituency.
The PDF has also announced the names of two candidates to contest the JHADC polls – Timing Lyngdoh from Mynsngat-Khanduli and Manbha Lyngdoh from Muthlong-Sohkymphor.
Till date, the PDF has declared the names of seven candidates to contest the MDC polls, 2019 in JHADC and 12 to contest the KHADC polls.
There are four sitting MDCs to contest the KHADC polls. They are James Ban Basaiawmoit from Mawkhar- Pynthorumkhrah, Morningstar Mawsor from Mawshynrut, Arbinus Lyngdoh from Umroi and Hadrian Lyngdoh from Mawkyrwat.
