Police intensify efforts to nab culprits involved in the murder of the Home Guard

Shillong: Meghalaya Home Minister James K Sangma assured a delegation of the Joint Action Committee, Mawlai (JACM), that the police are taking all steps to nab the four accused involved in the murder of the Home Guard personal at the 10th Mile FCI warehouse in Ri Bhoi district.

The murdered Home Guard personal, identified as Dismarlin Lyngkhoi, was assaulted by Assam-based truckers. The perpetrators have been identified as Naba Baruah, Sonaram Boro, Suresh Boro and Sahan Jamatia.

After assuring the delegation about the efforts made by the police department to locate and nab the perpetrators, the Home Minister told newsmen that the endeavour of the department is evident from the advertisement given in two local Assamese newspapers. “They have been declared as wanted by the police”, stated Sangma.

Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi district Rosette Kurbah told The Sentinel that the district police are on the job. “The SP have been asked to take a serious interest in the case in view of the sensitivity of the case”, he said.

Following the murder, two foodgrain-laden trucks were torched just outside the FCI warehouse in Shillong.
