Prestone Tynsong bats for stability in Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has stated that the present Executive Committee led by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) should be allowed to deliver on its promises made to the people during the elections to the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) held earlier this year.

“The MDCs who are part of the UDA should ensure the stability of the EC in the KHADC,” Tynsong said after summoning both KHADC chairman, Pynshngain N Syiem and Deputy CEM, Pyniaid Singh Syiem at his chamber recently to resolved their differences.

It may be recalled that during the recent budget session of the KHADC, Pyniaid had accused Pynshngain of trying to bring down the image of the Executive Committee in the eyes of the public just to show that he is the fittest to occupy the post of the CEM.

Asked about the reason to summon both Pyniaid and Pynshngain, he said that he wanted the two leaders to resolve their differences.

“I have summoned them with the intention to resolve the differences. As the two leaders of the party, they should try to reconcile and work together to ensure the stability of the present EC in the Council,” he said.
