SHILLONG: In a high profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, a local court in Shillong has extended the judicial custody of all five accused, including the victim’s wife and her alleged lover. Assistant Public Prosecutor Advocate Tushar Chanda confirmed that Sonam, Raj, and Vishal were produced before the court via video conferencing, following which their judicial custody was extended by 14 days. Earlier, on July 31, Anand and Akash were also produced through video link and granted a similar extension in custody.

Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered on May 23 while on his honeymoon in Meghalaya. The case took a horrifying turn when his decomposed body was discovered on June 2, dumped in a gorge near the picturesque Weisawdong Falls. His wife Sonam, her alleged partner Raj, and three others have since been arrested for their alleged involvement in the gruesome killing that has sent shockwaves across the region.
