The only college in East Jaintia Hills district established in 1992, Jaintia Eastern College of Khliehriat has been a forerunner in community-uplift initiatives for young people of the district by providing opportunities to students of lower income backgrounds and students from border areas.

While accepting students with low academic performances, the community college is making optimum efforts to improve academic performance by introducing various interventions that shape the personality of the students.
