Reconsider decision to join BJP: UDP to party leaders

SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party (UDP) has appealed to its four MDCs of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) to reconsider their decision to join the BJP. UDP leader and Cabinet Minister Lahkmen Rymbai said that the four MDCs are yet to officially tender their resignation letters to the party. “To the best of my knowledge, they have not submitted their resignation letter to the party leadership,” he said. When asked, the Minister said that the party will try to talk to the four MDCs and request them to reconsider their decision. The UDP is presently having 10 MDCs in the 30-member JHADC.
