GUWAHATI: Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared his experience during his trip to Mawlynnong in Meghalaya on Tuesday. With the caption, "No filters needed when a village looks as beautiful as Mawlynnong. When there's pristine cleanliness outside, one feels a sense of calm and serenity inside," he posted a video on his official Facebook account of his visit to Mawlynnong.
Mawlynnong is a village in the northeastern state of Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district. It has established a reputation as one of Asia's cleanest villages. The Nohwet Living Root Bridge is one of Meghalaya's most well-known landmarks.
The Ficus Elastica tree's roots were woven around a framework to form the bridge. The people in the steep valleys and mountains benefited greatly from these living root bridges, which are a staple of Khasi traditional architecture.
Famously known as the 'God of Cricket,' Tendulkar still holds the record for most runs scored in both Test and One-Day Internationals (ODI's), along with the unique achievement of scoring 100 international centuries.
From 1989 until 2013, he entertained cricket fans all over the world with his extraordinary skills and mastery of cricket. At the age of 16, the Mumbai-born cricketer made his Test debut on November 15, 1989, and played his first ODI on December 18 of the same year.
