Second Best Governed State is Meghalaya: Public Affairs Centre

SHILLONG: In some good news for the Conrad Sangma-led Meghalaya government, the north-eastern State of Meghalaya has been judged the 'Second Best Governed State in India" as per a report released by the 'Public Affairs Centre' (PAC).

Meghalaya stood second in the 'Small States' category of the Public Affairs Index, 2020. This annual index ranks States based on the performances of their governance.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has shared a post in his official Twitter handle stating "Happy to share that Meghalaya has been ranked the Second Best Governed State in India in the 'Small States Category' based on the Public Affairs Index 2020 of PAC India an annual ranking of the states of India on governance performance." It is to be mentioned that Kerala emerged as the best governed state in the nation while Uttar Pradesh ended at the bottom of the list in the large states category of the Index. (Agencies)
