Shillong: SELCO Foundation in partnership with Don Bosco Technical is supporting a Solar Technician and Micro Entrepreneur Training Program as an addition to the electrician trade, in about 2 different DB Tech Centres across North East region of India. The objective of the training program is to build out the capacity of the students and enhance their skills in all around aspects of Technical, Social and Entrepreneurial grounds. To provide with a better picture and knowledge based scenario a workshop on Energy Entrepreneurship and Innovation was conducted in DB Tech Shillong, Skill Centre for the existing trainees of the batch with the support of the Trainer and the entire DB Tech team on 12th September, a release stated.
The workshop began with a welcome speech by Father Cyril Tirkey, Principal, DB Tech Skill Centre, Shillong. Father Cyril Tirkey in his opening speech encouraged all the participants to think out of the box and start their own venture for a sustainable ecosystem building with the use of renewable energies like solar and other forms of energies. Father also introduced SELCO and its work culture followed by the objectives of supporting DB Tech in terms of technical and entrepreneurial aspects. In the later part to thank DB Tech, Shillong for all their support in the workshop and in the training program SELCO facilitated Father Cyril Tirkey and Trainer Aiban with a bouquet of fresh flowers, the release added.
