SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Wednesday recorded seven new COVID-19 cases while seven other persons recovered from the viral infection, informed Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War.

The State now has 133 active cases and the total number of recovered cases stands at 13,440.

Of the seven new cases, six were recorded in East Khasi Hills and one in West Garo Hills. Meanwhile, all the seven recovered cases were reported from East Khasi Hills.

The most affected district of East Khasi Hills has 100 active cases. On the toher hand, the four districts of South West Khasi Hills, South West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and East Garo Hills districts are currently COVID-19 free.

The total number of persons tested till date for COVID-19 are 3, 21, 819 out of which 3, 08, 102 tested negative for the virus.

So far a total number of 84, 702 persons have entered the state till Wednesday afternoon after restrictions on travelling were eased, added Dr War.
