Shella area unit of Hynniewtrep Youth Council abolished, Shillong

SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Shella area unit on Friday informed that in a general meeting held on July 20, it was decided to abolish the organization from Shella.

Speaking to reporters, Macdonald Mawa president HYC Shella area unit, said, “We have taken this decision to abolish the Council in Shella because we are against the style of functioning of the general secretary of the HYC central body Roy Kupar Synrem.”

He informed that the resignation letter was also submitted to the president of the HYC central body Robert June Kharjarain. When asked, he informed that there are around 22 members of the HYC in Shella Unit and all of them have resigned from the council. He said that they are not against the HYC or its style of functioning. However, the decision was taken solely based on the actions of Roy Kupar Synrem.
