Shillong projects inspected with their respective department officials

SHILLONG: MLA Sanbor Shullai, who is also the Chairman of the Monitoring-cum-Implementation Committee of South Shillong constituency, conducted joint inspections of various projects in his constituency with respective department officials here on Saturday.

Among those inspected is the ongoing construction work of the 'Working Women Hostel' located at Rilbong here. This work, estimated at Rs. 4,50,39,000, was sanctioned under the 'Social Welfare SPF Scheme 2017-18' .

A joint inspection was also conducted for the ongoing construction of the first of its kind 'Organic Municipal Market Complex', located at Kench's Road Bishnupur here. This work, under the Urban Affairs Department, is estimated at Rs. 2, 39,10,000.

They also inspected the newly sanctioned scheme to construct a motorable road including widening, black topping and construction of a public footpath and drain from the main gate of Sankar Dev College, at Kench's Trace Road Bishnupur here. The project has been sanctioned for Rs. 1,43,23,000 under PWD (SPA-GEN) 2019-20.

A joint inspection was also done for the newly sanctioned 'Additional Water Supply Scheme for Greater Laban and Greater Lumparing areas, sanctioned under (AMRUT SCHEME) of PHE and Municipal Board for an amount of Rs.4,65,22,000. The MLA, during the inspection was accompanied by the Director of Social welfare DD Shira, the Assistant Executive Engineer PWD Shillong Central Division S Lytep, the Executive Engineer of Urban Affairs K Kharumnuid, Executive Engineer PHE (GSWS) W Nongbri, Co-Chairman MTDC Ltd. Ricky Shullai and officials of the departments.

Also present were the general secretary and members of the Sankar Dev Cultural Centre Bishnupur; Andrew Sawian and Memora Shabong general secretary and Assistant general secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Laban; A. Marwein secretary of MCIC 19 South Shillong Constituency and its and members, the Rangbah Shnongs and the Rangbah Dongs of various Dorbar Shnongs. MLA Sanbor Shullai expressed his sincere thanks to the official of various department for preparation of the plan estimate and DPR (Detailed Project Reports) of the mentioned projects and get it sanctioned by the government. He has also expressed his thanks to the members of the society and the land owners for handing over their lands free of cost for the welfare and interests of students, youths and the general public.
