State Conference Meet on Continuing Nursing Education Held At NEIGRIHMS Auditorium, Shillong

SHILLONG: The CNE Sub Committee, Meghalaya Nursing Council on Thursday organized the State Conference on “Continuing Nursing Education” at NEIGRIHMS Auditorium, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.

The inaugural programme was graced by Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, PW Ingty as the chief guest and Director of Health Services (MI), Dr TS Nongkhlaw as the guest of honour.

Addressing the inaugural programme, PW Ingty said that the nursing profession is the most gentle of all other professions. “Nursing is a source of employment for the people particularly for women, but there is a need for parity of both government and private sectors. In this aspect, efforts and exercises are being done to develop guidelines to bring parity of both government and private sectors,” he said.

He also said that nursing profession is constantly evolving and with the advancement of technologies, nurses need to make an effort to continue their studies and researches and equip themselves with better practices and maintain competency in order to provide quality health care to the patients.
