SHILLONG: Independent candidate in the last legislative assembly election from Mawlai constituency Teibor Pathaw who came in second place, will soon take a final decision from which party to contest the upcoming MDC polls in 2019, after consultation with his supporters. “There are a few political parties which have approached me for a party ticket to contest the MDC election and the National People’s Party (NPP) is one of them, but I will have to consult with my supporters first before making a final decision,” Pathaw told The Sentinel recently.

Pathaw who had contested both the MLA and MDC election on a number of occasions, said the reason he has decided to contest the upcoming MDC polls next year is to bring development and serve the people of Mawlai constituency despite having lost in previous elections.

“I had lost the MLA election earlier this year however I’m hopeful that the people of this constituency this time around will give me a chance to show what I can bring to the table be it development or any problems faced by the people I will carry them on my shoulders and I hope the people of Mawlai give me a chance to serve them,” he said.

Concerning the PDF who at the last moment denied him a party ticket in the last MLA election, he said this time also they have approached me however I have told them that I cannot trust their party anymore.
