SHILLONG: Two more COVID-19 patients in Meghalaya has recovered, health authorities informed on Tuesday. With the latest recoveries, the number of active cases in the State has come down to 15.

The two recent recoveries are from West Garo Hills. Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman Warr informed that out of the 44 recorded cases, 28 has recovered and one died of the virus. The number of samples sent for testing till Tuesday afternoon is 14188, number of samples yielded negative for COVID-19 are 13649 and results awaited is 495.

Dr Warr said that the woman from Ampata village in Ri-Bhoi under Jirang Community and Rural Development Block, who tested positive for the virus, said that the case will be recorded as that of Assam.

The DHS said that the woman was under treatment in Assam and for sometime. "Her samples was taken when she was discharged and when she tested positive she was taken back and is currently in Guwahati Medical College," Dr Warr informed. Meanwhile, so far 15,720 stranded residents of the State have returned back so far.
