SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Friday registered two new COVID-19 cases and registered no death.

Meanwhile, the State also recorded four new recovered cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered cases reached 83,292.

The tally of active cases in the State is 73, the Health Department said in a bulletin.

The total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection in the State stands at 1,484 as of now.

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 62, with nil cases in West Khasi Hills, East Garo Hills, West Jaintia Hills, South West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills. There are six cases in West Garo Hills, three cases in Ri- Bhoi and two in East Jaintia Hills.

The two new COVID-19 cases which have been detected are from East Khasi Hills and East Jaintia Hills. The four recovered cases are all from East Khasi Hills.
