Video Bronchoscope Machine inaugurated at Reid Provincial Chest Hospital, Shillong

SHILLONG: Dr. Joram Beda, IAS Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Health and Family Welfare Department, inaugurated the Video Bronchoscope Machine at Reid Provincial Chest Hospital, Shillong, which was funded by the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth on Thursday. The event was held in the presence of the hospital superintendent, Dr. M. Mawrie, and the additional medical superintendent, Dr. J. Kharwanlang, along with the hospital staff and K.J. Gangte (head key relationship officer, Shillong), as well as other representatives from ICICI Bank.

The video bronchoscope will be used for bronchoscopy, which is a procedure that lets the examining doctor look at the airways of the lungs of a patient. The machine will benefit all the patients advised for the procedure, especially the low-income group, stated a press release.
