Speaking on the occasion, Pala said the mela provides a platform where those involved in agriculture such as farmers, buyers etc., can discuss, interact, share their views and ideas on how to promote agriculture and on how to package and market the goods produced.

He also informed that the Government of India spent about Rs 60 crore on agriculture as 68 per cent of India’s population constitutes of farmers.

As the government concentrates not only in production but on forward linkage, he advised the farmers to use the portal, website, Whatsappp and other technologies for marketing.

Understanding the challenges and consequences that they had to face due to climate change, Pala advised them to use new technologies of farming and to make use of the training and other facilities that the department is offering from time to time in order to enhance their production and be self-sufficient.

He hoped that through the technical session, farmers will learn and be enlightened about new technologies which will increase their production and income.
