WBM directs shop-keepers to submit filled-in formats under Income Tax Act, 1961
WILLIAMNAGAR: With a view to having a proper study analysis, the Williamnagar Municipal Board (WBM) has directed all the shop-keepers and establishments of different trades registered under it to submit the filled-in formats under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
The circular issued in this regard by the CEO of WBM, Aloysius Ch Marak, stated that as the Directorate of Intelligence and Criminal is the nodal agency of the Income Tax Department for collection, collation and dissemination of data from various sources to generate actionable intelligence, multiple projects are being taken up for collection of data. This will enhance the existing tax base of the country by widening of tax base identification of and compliance by non-filers among the shops and establishments stated a release.
