Youth Parliament by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Shillong

SHILLONG: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJMY), Meghalaya organized a ‘Youth Parliament’ programme on Saturday at BJP office here in Shillong.

The programme focused on four topics - Role of the youth in making new India, National Register of Citizens, Politics of Development versus Politics of Appeasement and Rise of Unemployment in Meghalaya.

The resource person during the programme were Phuyosa Yobin, advocate Meghalaya High Court, Tilok Das Gupta, legal cell convener BJP Meghalaya, David Kharsati, vice president BJP Meghalaya and Egenstar Kurkalang BJYM president Meghalaya. The function which was presided by Nangkitbok Hoojon General secretary BJYM Meghalaya.

The interaction in this program was very interesting and successful which was participated by members of BJYM and participants.

BJYM president Meghalaya Egenstar Kurkalang informed that some of the important points were resolved in the meeting to give suggestions to the government like the need for the government to adopt or frame an appropriate Rule and Regulations for the purpose at the earliest and to constitute a Special Committee. “To create more vocational training centre and skill development centre in every district and sub-divisional head quarter, taking opportunity to utilize properly the central scheme and programme like skill development, women empowerment, scholarship to the students, mudra loan, agricultural loan and subsidy etc,” he said.

The BJYM leader also praised the central government especially to Prakash Javadekar Union Minister HRD for a response to their request to solve the problem of SSA teacher’s salary by providing another bonus package of 132 crore to Meghalaya in addition to 135 crore in the month of March this year.

Kurkalang also expressed his gratitude towards Nitin Gadkeri for providing 1.5 lakh crore for improving high way in Northeast and around 8000 for Meghalaya and for other projects.
