295 bags of areca nuts seized in Mizoram

AIZWAL: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 295 bags of Areca Nuts in General Area Tlangsam-Rauntlang in Mizoram on Sunday, stated a release.

The operation was carried out by a team of Assam Rifles and Custom Preventive Force, Champhai District based on specific information.

The contraband was seized by Customs Preventive Customs Preventive Force of Champhai District.

Approximate cost of the recovered Areca Nuts is Rs 66,08,000.
