A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hits Mizoram

Champhai: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale was felt in Mizoram. The tremor was felt around 2:20 PM on Saturday at a depth of 30 KM. The epicentre of the quake was 119 KM east of Champhai, Mizoram.

No casualty or loss of property has been reported. The National Centre for Seismology informed about the tremor through a tweet.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:5.2, Occurred on 14-11-2020, 14:20:26 IST, Lat: 23.53 & Long: 94.50, Depth: 30 Km ,Location: 119km E of Champhai, Mizoram, India."

The region has been experiencing frequent earthquakes from a few months. On Friday, an earthquake of 3.7 magnitude shook a few parts of Assam.
