AIZAWL: The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a lecture on International Day of the Unborn Child at the Company Operating Base (COB) at Tuipang on Friday, stated a press release.

The lecture was aimed at remembering all children in their mothers' wombs, to celebrate their coming lives, to remember those who passed away before they came into the world, to commit to protect the unborn and to advocate against the violence of abortion. The lecture also dwelt on the fact that this day was established by John Paul to coincide with the Feast of the Annunciation. John Paul viewed the day as a positive option in favour of life and the spread of a culture for life to guarantee respect for human dignity in every situation. The locals of Lungpuk village were very happy and expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles. A total of 31 local residents attended the lecture.
