Assam Rifles organizes conclave to enhance cooperation at Aizawl

AIZAWL: Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted an NGO conclave at Aizawl on Tuesday.

The aim of the conclave was to foster greater synergy, enhanced cooperation and unhindered coordination between all the NGOs of the state and Assam Rifles for the greater benefit of the society.

The conclave was chaired by Major General Vinod Kumar Nambiar, YSM, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) and attended by the Office Bearers of the Young Mizo Association (YMA), Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), Mizo Students' Union (MSU), Mizoram Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP), Mizo Upa Pawl (MUP), Zou Independence Forum (ZIF) and Mizoram Football Association (MFA)

Major General Vinod Kumar Nambiar, YSM, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) appreciated all the NGOs for their excellent work and assured them of full support from the Assam Rifles as 'Friends of the North East People'.

The representatives of the NGOs gave their views, thoughts and analysis on various agenda points and various avenues of cooperation between Assam Rifles and the locals of Mizoram. The general officer also emphasized the recent increasing trend of smuggling of narcotics and war-like stores which adversely affects the locals, and may even have other far-reaching effects in future. He appealed to all flagbearers of the Mizo society to work with enhanced cooperation and assist Assam Rifles in its war against all illegal activities.

The subject event culminated with a joint affirmation of NGOs and Assam Rifles with respect to an increased degree of cooperation for prosperity and growth of the people of Mizoram. The general officer also applauded the selfless work being done by the NGOs, stated a press release.
