AIZAWL: The Mizoram administration has announced measures to fire underperforming individuals from state service in a major effort to increase government efficiency. This was disclosed by Chief Minister Lalduhoma at a recent Aizawl education department assessment meeting.
The need for an effective and well qualified workforce was underlined by the CM. Committees throughout different departments are being formed to assess government employees' performance in order to accomplish this goal.
Lalduhoma stated, “We believe it’s essential to relieve unqualified and underperforming employees from their positions… Our commitment lies in ensuring a workforce that delivers high-quality services.”
"Projects are being closely monitored by the state project monitoring committee, which has inspected about 40 ongoing projects so far. We will be stringent in implementing and monitoring projects in the state," he said.
The Mizoram government is working to centralise the use of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in an effort to better streamline government operations. Transparency and accountability will now be ensured by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), which will supervise CSR allocation.
The Mizoram government hopes to improve service delivery, allocate resources as efficiently as possible, and eventually strengthen state governance by putting these measures into place.
