AIZAWL: President Droupadi Murmu has stated that the Himalayas, its delicate ecosystem, and its flora and wildlife are "our priceless inheritance" and must be maintained properly for future generations.

The President spoke to the Mizoram Legislative Assembly in Aizawl and stated, "Hilly terrain presents unique development obstacles, yet Mizoram has accomplished exceptionally well across the board, especially when it comes to human development. Considering healthcare and education to be the two cornerstones of effective government, policymakers and administrators have appropriately placed an emphasis on enhancing facilities for these two industries."

She asserts that connectivity is unquestionably the most crucial element in maximizing the potential of a location like this, and that building village roads, highways, and bridges not only makes it easier to meet healthcare and educational goals but also creates new commercial prospects.

Today's technology, according to the President, is being used to better serve the needs of the populace. She gave us advice on how to embrace modern methods while still staying connected to our heritage.

She was particularly happy to learn that the Mizoram Assembly has chosen NeVA as a leader in the move to digital (National e Vidhan Application). Women have more authority in Mizoram than anywhere else in the world, whether it is in business, culture, or sports.

She emphasized the need for more gender equality in public life, particularly among state legislators. The President claims that as we become more significant on the global stage, more obligations arise.

"By showing the rest of the world the most efficient ways to reverse the effects of environmental deterioration, for example, we have taken the lead in climate action. The globe has praised our numerous efforts to promote renewable energy sources. We must work at our level to aid in the healing of the world in the meantime, whether we are individual citizens, policymakers, lawmakers, or administrators. Among all Indian states, Mizoram boasts the highest percentage of forests, making it the perfect place for incredible and varied biodiversity to thrive. Our priceless heritage includes the delicate ecosystem, vegetation, and animals of the Himalayas. For future generations, we must protect them," she expressed.
