Short in stature but not in spirit, Mizoram lad becomes Army Officer

Guwahati: At a time when good news has become scarce in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected several million across the world, a young boy from Mizoram has brought cheers to the nation for by achieving his dreams by overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds.

Lalhmachhuana, a Mizo boy, has won hearts after he overcame his physical deficit to be commissioned as an officer in the Indian Army's Artillery Regiment. Lieutenant Lalhmachhuana's inspiring story soon reached the ears of his state's Chief Minister Zoramthanga, who tweeted, "Mizoram is proud of our very own Lt. Lalhmachhuana son of Lalsangvela from Ramhlun 'N' who was recently commissioned as an officer in the reputed Indian Army under the famed Artillery Regiment."

The Chief Minister also shared some pictures from the youth's passing out parade, where he can be seen standing side-by-side with his fellow army men. Although much shorter than his fellow jawans, the Mizo boy can be seen grinning ear-to-ear, presumably with satisfaction and a sense of triumph.

Soon, Twitterati poured in their wishes for the youngster who had dared to dream big. "Congratulations Lalmachhuama and Mizoram", wrote one user, while another wrote, "We are proud of you guys. Lots of love."'

Lalhmachhuana's success story certainly seems like one that will be remembered in the times to come.
