So far, at least 847 active cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nagaland of which 692 patients were asymptomatic while 139 have mild symptoms.

Kohima: In a major development, Nagaland on Tuesday reported over 50 cases of omicron variant.

With this, the state has also become to report the first case of omicron variant.

Taking to the micro-blogging site twitter, Nagaland's Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom confirmed the same.

"54 cases of Omicron have been confirmed from the State. The department has been keenly monitoring the situation in the state and assures that all possible measures are in place. May we all continue to adhere to CAB (covid appropriate behavior) and vaccinate when your turn comes," he tweeted.

So far, at least 847 active cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nagaland of which 692 patients were asymptomatic while 139 have mild symptoms.

Apart from these, 732 people have lost their lives in the state so far.

Notably, Manipur was the first state in the entire northeast to report the first-ever case of omicron variant of COVID-19 in December last year.
