KOHIMA: For the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival, which is set to take place in Nagaland from December 1 to 10, the Kigwema Youth Organization (KYO) has introduced parking and traffic rules to facilitate travel and convenience for attendees. It aims to manage the crowds while keeping the traffic disciplined around the festival site.
Visitors can park their vehicles at the designated Kigwema Local Ground, 1.5 km from the festival's main venue at Kisama Heritage Village, on the way to Manipur. There will be a parking charge of Rs. 50 per vehicle.
In an attempt to avoid congestion, KYO has strictly prohibited parking on the stretch of National Highway between the Kisama entrance gate and Kigwema Local Ground. Violators will be fined Rs. 500, emphasizing the importance of the rules.
In addition, KYO will also provide free bus services between Kigwema Local Ground and Kisama Heritage Village to ensure easy access. This service is to ensure that the attendees of the festival have an easy, comfortable, and efficient means of transport.
All inquiries and assistance can be sought from KYO's president at 7005641745 or the secretary at 8731912982.
The recommendations point out KYO's proactive approach toward the management of events in order to maximize the overall experience while minimizing disturbances, especially as thousands of guests are anticipated to gather for this renowned cultural gathering.
