

LONGLENG: The district administration of Longleng has informed that a mass social work will be held on August 13 from 6:30 am till 9:30 am and requested all the residents of Longleng town to actively participate in the cleanliness drive.
According to the DIPR, Nagaland, business establishments of have been also directed to whitewash their shops and keep their shops closed till the completion of mass social work.
To celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to mark 75 years of India's Independence, the district administration has asked its citizens to hoist the National Flag atop their home from August 13 to August 15 with the following rules: (1) whenever the National Flag is on display, it shall occupy the position of honour and should be distinctly placed; (2) the National Flag shall not be displayed in an inverted manner, i.e.; the saffron band should not be the bottom band. (3) A damaged or disheveled Flag shall not be displayed; (4) where the National Flag is displayed in the house of the public, it may be flown day and night; (5) no other Flag or bunting shall be placed higher than or above or side by side with the National Flag; (6) the National Flag should not be flown at half-mast except on occasion instructed by the Government of India and (7) the National Flag shall not be allowed to touch the ground or the floor or trail in the water.
Meanwhile, in view of the ensuing Independence Day celebration on August 15, the Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Vineet Kumar has also informed that there will be a mass social work on August 12. In this regard, all heads of offices under the Peren district have been directed to ensure strict compliance and attendance of all the staff, and all have been directed to assemble at assigned locations at 9 am positively.
All the Departments have been requested to mobilize all available resources like machinery, tools, and implement at their disposal and also arrange necessary refreshments for their respective department.
Further, the DC has entrusted EAC, Kevethito Rose to collect attendance from all departments, and non-participation on the part of the staff of any departments will be viewed seriously and action will be initiated accordingly.
