KOHIMA: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio emphasized the importance of festivals in fostering unity, peace, and mutual respect during the Khaozaosie Hok-Ah festival in Thonoknyu town, Noklak district.

Organized by the Khiamniungan Tribal Council with support from the state government, the festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Nagas.

Rio highlighted how festivals like Khaozaosie Hok-Ah serve as a reminder of deep-rooted traditions and a platform to promote communal harmony. He urged the youth to take pride in their heritage and actively preserve the cultural legacy handed down by their ancestors.

Rio also emphasized the critical role of younger generations in safeguarding the Naga identity and traditions.

Calling for inclusive and responsible celebrations, Rio reiterated his commitment to creating an environment of peace and harmony, which he believes is essential for the progress and prosperity of Nagaland.

He encouraged the people of Noklak, the frontier district bordering an international boundary, to prioritize peace and harmony as the foundation for development and contribute to the state’s overall growth.

During the event, Rio inaugurated handicraft stalls and inspected cultural troupes, further showcasing the cultural vibrancy of the region. The festival underscored the collective values that bind the diverse communities of Nagaland and highlighted the importance of preserving and celebrating the state’s unique cultural identity.
