Poshan Mela at Wakching

KOHIMA: As part of Poshan Abhiyaan programme, a mela for information education and communication (IEC) and advocacy programme in convergence with Social Welfare, Medical, RD and Panchayat Departments was held at Wakching under in Mon under the theme “Overall Health and Nutrition”. Renchano, CDPO Wakching spoke about the necessity of adequate diet with the diversification of foods, intake of IFA and vitamin A supplementation, timely deworming, immunization, handwashing and sanitation and poverty intervention which can reduce the incidence of malnutrition, stated a DIPR release.

Girl band music contest

KOHIMA: In tune with the Central Government’s initiative to save and educate the girl child in the country a girl band music competition on the theme “Your Voice Your Strength” was organized by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Office Chozuba in collaboration with District Level Centre for Women – Mahila Shakti Kendra at Vamuzo memorial Town Hall, Chozuba recently. Eastern Christian High School band – Chozuba – emerged as the winner and Praise Girls band of St Andrew High School and the Harmonic Girls band from Government Higher Secondary School Chozuba were first and second runners-up respectively, stated a DIPR release.

CRPF job interview

KOHIMA: CRPF Commandant – 78 Bn, Surender Singh has informed that a walk-in-interview will be conducted at Composite Hospital, Group Centre, CRPF, Imphal July 30 for selection and engagement of 7 General Duty Medical Officers in CRPF Hospitals located in Manipur and Nagaland on contractual basis. Interested candidates have been informed to bring their documents in original and photocopies (Degree, Age Proof and Experience Certificate etc.), application in plain paper superscribing the name of the post applied for and five passport size recent photographs, stated a DIPR release.

Farmers’ meet

KOHIMA: District Agro-Met Unit (DAMU), Kiphire organized a day-long farmers awareness programme at Kiphire village recently. During the programme, the farmers were made aware of how the IMD (India Meteorological Department) has come up to provide weather information to farmers by setting up Agro-Met station. The farmers were also lauded for taking management strategy measures during the invasion of Fall Army Worm (FAW) on maize, stated a DIPR release.

Pig slaughterhouse

KOHIMA: An inauguration ceremony of the scientific pig slaughterhouse was held at Jalukie town with Advisor for RD, Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire as the special guest. The programme was chaired by Principal Secretary for RD, Bendangkokba. Kire expressed the need of hygienic pig slaughtering house and said that the slaughtered pigs should be thoroughly checked so that they are free from diseases, stated a DIPR release.
