Consultative meeting

KOHIMA: Nagaland Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshu has convened a consultative meeting of all the members of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and the members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the conference hall of the Assembly Secretariat on August 9. Thereafter, another meeting of all the members of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and the members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be held for the formation of the Parliamentarians and Ex-Parliamentarians Association, stated a DIPR release.

Vocational training

KOHIMA: A two-day vocational training programme was held at Christian Standard Higher Secondary School, Changtongya town recently. Resources persons were Limasenla Jamir and Arsashi Ozukum. Altogether 43 students attended the training. During the programme, vocational training on paper crafts, wood crafts and frames were conducted for boys, while the girls were trained on making earrings and Christmas ornaments, stated a DIPR release.

Teachers’ Day Token Flags

KOHIMA: Director, School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe has informed all Districts Education Officer and Sub-Divisional Education Officers to collect Teachers’ Day Token Flags from August 1 to 10 from the Directorate of School Education, Kohima (Training Hall). All the heads of schools, both government and private schools, have been informed to collect the Teachers’ Day Token Flags from their respective DEO and SDEO, stated a DIPR release.

College freshers

KOHIMA: The 4th edition of Shamator College Freshers meet programme was held at its college campus. Wanmei C Phom, EAC Shamator, was the guest speaker. Encouraging the students, he said the world is full of opportunities but one should strive hard as there is no shortcut to success. He also expressed gratitude to the teaching faculties for the outstanding results, considering it is the first batch of the college, stated a DIPR release.

Career guidance

KOHIMA: The Department of Political Science of KROS College, Kohima, in collaboration with Alumni Association organized a career guidance seminar at its college campus recently with resource persons, T Dili Khekho, entrepreneur and Proprietor D Cafe Restaurant and Kevethito Rose, Extra Assistant Commissioner (NCS). Khekho shared on how he started his career with a humble beginning and encouraged the students to give full interest in whichever field they choose as their career, so as to achieve their goals and lead a successful life, stated a DIPR release.

Essay competition

KOHIMA: A essay writing competition on the topic “Holistic Nutrition” for students of class 6-8 was conducted at GHSS, Mon on Tuesday. Easther L Konyak (class 8) of Model School bagged the first position, Imlirenla (class) 8 of St John School got the second position while the third position was bagged by Yeilib (class 7) of Edith Douglas School and Ngemnyei (class 7) of Konjong Higher Secondary School. SDEO Mon K Limhathung Odyuo in his keynote address stated that a holistic approach to proper nutrition encourages education, stated a DIPR release.

Scouts & Guides camp

KOHIMA: The Bharat Scouts and Guides Association Mokokchung district is conducting “Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp” (District Highest Award) at Multi-Sports Complex Mokokchung from July 30-31. Altogether 13 Scouts and 13 Guides from 7 schools are participating in the camp. State Training Commissioner, Albert Solo is the observer from the headquarter. Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung. Speaking in the programme, the DC said it is a privilege for him to be in the family of Scouts and Guides and called upon all the participants in the camp to reflect on what they learnt in the camp and become responsible students and contribute to society, stated a DIPR release.
