Health programme

KOHIMA: A health and sanitation programme for women in Phek under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign, organized by the district administration in collaboration with District Level Centre for Women – Mahila Shakti Kendra, was held at DC's Conference Hall. A speech on "Women's Health" was given by Dr Panger Longkumer, gynaecologist, district hospital, Phek. The Child Development Project Officer spoke on Angawadi, stated a DIPR release.

Bus parking

KOHIMA: Mon Deputy Commissioner Thavaseelan K in a notification issued on July 9 stated that to regulate traffic and parking of vehicles in Mon Town, all bus owners and drivers are informed that parking of buses on the roadside and at the private stations will not be allowed henceforth. Defaulters will be strictly penalized. Claims and objections, if any, can be submitted to the Office of the DC within 30 days from the date of the issue of this notice, the DC added, stated a DIPR release.

ATMA exhibition

KOHIMA: The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) organized a day-long ATMA exhibition-cum-sales at Zunheboto Town Hall under the theme "Sustainability Through Agriculture Diversification". Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner Peter Lichamo inaugurated the stalls. The programme was chaired by Tokato Zhimomi, Deputy Project Director. Distribution of district farmers award 2019 followed where Ghukhevi (Akuhaito block), Khekato (Satakha block), Irato (Satoi block) and Xakiqhe group (Akuluto) were awarded, stated a DIPR release.

Training programme

KOHIMA: Under first phase ICDP 2018-19, a training programme for beneficiary societies was held at CKS Hall Tuensang on Friday. The programme was organized by PIT, ICDP Tuensang district. In Tuensang out of total 800 societies, 57 primary cooperative societies (beneficiaries) received the benefits in the first phase. Akhang Jongshi, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies and Chief Project Officer (CPO), Tuensang, highlighted the importance of book keeping and loan recovery on time, stated a DIPR release.

Enrolment drive

KOHIMA: The district administration of Mon and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, organized a day-long free enrolment drive for the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) at the Town Council Hall, Mon on Friday. Deputy Commissioner Mon Thavaseelan stated that the AB-PMJAY scheme aims to provide coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family annually, benefiting poor families, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization through a network of empanelled health care provider. AB-PMJAY is free health insurance scheme, he added, stated a DIPR release.
