KOHIMA: The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch, under the guidance of General Secretary Akhale V. Khamo, carried out relief operations for families affected by recent fire incidents in Dimapur.
The programme was carried out in collaboration with the IRCS Dimapur District Branch, focusing on relief assistance to the families rendered homeless by the fires.
The relief team visited three fire-affected locations, which include Kuda Village, Naharbari Colony, and Lhomithi Colony. Four families were affected in Kuda Village.
Naharbari Colony was the worst affected because more than 250 families lost their homes. Lhomithi Colony also faced major damage. The relief materials that were given to the affected families included blankets, hygiene kits, kitchen sets, and tarpaulins.
Akhale V. Khamo emphasized the need for prompt, coordinated action in such disasters. "The Indian Red Cross Society stands by those in need, ensuring that no family faces tragedy alone. We're still committed to easing misery and reviving hope," Khamo stated.
The IRCS Nagaland State Branch also thanked the volunteers and the Dimapur District Branch for their efforts to ensure relief delivery to the fire-affected communities. Coordination among the IRCS and its branches helped deliver much-needed relief to the fire-affected communities and helped them overcome a difficult time.
