ITANAGAR: After a gap of 33 years, the villages of Paktu Ete Bango in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, came together to celebrate the traditional Mopin festival with great enthusiasm and cultural pride.
The villages under Paktu Ete Bango include Bene, Gune Bane, Kugi Pomte, Kugi Pomse, Paya, Pobdi, and Wak. The event took place at the Pobdi general ground and was marked by vibrant dances, a marathon race, and various games and sports.
Brigadier Ritesh Katoch along with West Siang superintendent of police Kardak Riba and power department executive engineer Jumkar Bagra, joined the celebrations. Festival celebration committee president Karge Ete in his address, urged the community to preserve the rich heritage and traditions of the Galo people. Addressing the occasion, Brigadier Katoch, emphasised the importance of protecting the unique cultural legacy of the Galo community for future generations. Aalo West MLA Topin Ete in his address highlighted the developmental progress in his area over the past year. He mentioned the construction of vital roads, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
