KOHIMA : According to NSCN-GPRN (Khangno) the misunderstandings were all resolved in the ceasefire office, however, revoked again the next day.

The banned outfit has expressed their regret and asked for apology for the incident that took place on 4th January. A misunderstanding took place among few NGO leaders of Sumi community, local council members and Western Sumi Youth Front.

In the statement issued through its MIP, the outfit expressed how aware they are of their actions and the unintentional hurt caused to the NGO leaders. As per the MIP, the issue was primarily about disarming Isak Sumi, the general secretary of NSCN/GPRN (Khango).

MIP alleged that Isak only delivered criticism to the administration through his power intoxication and haughtiness. Furthermore NCSN (Khango) mentioned about the impeachment request issued by WC/NNPG back in 2019, in order to remove Isak from the post of co-convener.

Isak achieved nothing but loads of corruption activities, nepotism, drug addiction, autocracy and using government funds to lead a life of royalty. The NSCN claimed the frequent warnings issued by the President and several senior members against Isak's lawlessness and abuse of power.

Following the impeachment process, the proscribed group asserted that, some members of Sumi organisations, general secretary of NGBF Shikuto Zalipu, president of Western Sumi Hoho, Shikaho Zhimomi in cooperation with Isak and few of his partners, forced into the ceasefire office.

Furthermore, the group attempted to grab the weapons from the officials on duty at the time of scuffle. This resulted in retaliation from the other side.
