

KOHIMA: Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Tourism, Suresh Gopi, visited Nagaland, where he engaged with district officials and department heads at the Police House in Chümoukedima, according to a report.
While on the visit, Gopi reaffirmed the Central government's commitment towards the growth of the Northeast, especially Nagaland, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He encouraged officials to closely study the state budget so that its dividends could reach all the citizens.
The minister emphasized strategic planning and asked the officials to utilize the available resources to the best of their abilities. He assured them of full support from the government for any project or proposal for the development of the state.
Other than his interactions with officials, Gopi toured the Heirloom Naga Centre at Sovima, where he was amazed by the quality of work done by local artisans. His visit concluded with a meeting with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his residence, in which senior officials were present.
The visit by Gopi highlights the government's continued drive to develop infrastructure and encourage local initiatives in Nagaland with a view to upgrading the standard of living for its people and stimulating economic development in the state.
