NSCN (K-YA) extortion module in Dimapur busted by Assam Rifles

Guwahati: Assam Rifles troopers in a joint operation with Nagaland Police apprehended three cadres of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (K-YA) near Old Showba, Nikheku, and Thilixu village in Dimapur district of Nagaland on 27-28 June. This has been termed as "a major breakthrough against extortion activities by undergrounds in Nagaland" by the officials.

The joint column of troops launched the operation and apprehended the NSCN (K-YA) from the area after receiving secret intelligence. The apprehended militants have been identified as Self-Styled Secretary Hoto Swu, the Personal Secretary of Self-Styled Brigadier Akhao Zhimo, Finance Kilonser; Self-Styled Captain Huto and Self-Styled Leacy Rolem. The team also recovered one HK Assault Rifle with magazine, a .22mm rifle, a single barrel rifle, a grenade, two pistols, assorted ammunition, and extortion slips from the nabbed cadres.

The apprehended individuals along with recovered items have been handed over to Diphupar Police Station for further investigations, officials said.
