KOHIMA: The Zunheboto Range Student's Union (ZRSU) of Zunheboto district of Nagaland sealed offices of BSNL, Airtel & Reliance Jio for for poor network services.

In a tweet from WeTheNagas has said that the Zunheboto Range Student's Union (ZRSU) has earlier also given 15days of ultimatum to restore the network services but BSNL, Airtel & Reliance Jio did not pay heed to their ultimatum.

BSNL, Airtel & Reliance Jio office were sealed in Zunheboto for poor network services. All mobile service providers were given 15 days ultimatum for improving their services but since they did not pay heed to their ultimatum, the ZRSU sealed their office on 3rd Sept 2021. The ZRSU has demanded for proper internet services and stable connection as it is their right.

In the other hand in Assam, RailTel, a telecom infrastructure provider, has completed the deploying of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Identification System for Capturing Attendance and Management of SDMIS (Student Database Management Information System) across all the elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools in all 33 districts of Assam. According to RailTel, the total project value for RailTel is 19.20 crore out of which Rs 12 crore is one time cost being released post completion of the project. The cost for maintenance of the project is Rs. 3.96 crore per year with a scope of AMC for 2 years in the current scope of work. RailTel has successfully completed this project in 4 months.

In 48000 schools across 33 districts of Assam the RailTel implemented Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Identification System for Capturing Attendance and Management of SDMIS. In press release the RailTel quoting the Puneet Chawla, CMD of RailTel, said, "With a global pandemic rapidly changing the world around us, all important sectors like health, education are leaning towards cutting edge digital technologies to adapt to the new normal".
