School teachers in Nagaland can now apply for transfers online

Kohima: In a new initiative of the department of School Education(DoSE) has introduced online transfer portal that will be live from October 3 till October 31.

The portal went live 10 days after it was launched on September 23.

The announcement was made by the principal director of School Education, Shanavas C through Twitter update on Saturday.

The portal will facilitate the processing of transfer requests of all categories of teachers except Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs).

1901 teacher vacancies

As per data provided on the website, the total teacher vacancy (tentative) in the government schools across the State is 1901.

'Tentative Vacancy Positions' available for Teacher's Transfer is given under 'Downloads' section in the website.

The details given in the department's website displayed vacant positions for various subject teachers as follows: 196 GT Maths, 187 GT Science, 248 GT English, 3 General subject teachers, 831 Primary Teachers, 87 GHT and 349 UGHT respectively.

In the notification, it also stated that teachers may submit applications for other schools as well. However, consideration of their request is subjected to feasibility factors, the department notified in its website.

There shall be no more offline transfer applications.

With the launch and activation of the portal, offline applications for transfers of teachers in Nagaland will not be accepted.

On September 23, the Prinicipal Director notified "Henceforth no offline application will be accepted for any kind of teacher transfer with effect from the date of issue of this notification," 

Teachers who wish to apply for transfers may login into the portal using their registered mobile number and submit applications along with uploading a scanned copy of duly filled NOC (Sample NOC format available at the portal).

It is to be mentioned that heads of all Government Schools and all categories of Government School Teachers had been directed to download the Department of School Education Nagaland Teacher's app (Android version) from Google Play Store and install in their mobile phones with immediate effect.

Directives/ messages received through the app should be strictly complied with, the notification also added.
