GANGTOK: Sikkim’s Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, marked International Women’s Day 2025 with a heartfelt message, acknowledging the profound contributions of women across diverse sectors. He emphasized the day as a celebration of their inherent strength and unwavering resilience.

The chief minister’s address centered on the year’s theme, which underscored the fundamental link between progress and the empowerment of women. He asserted that genuine societal advancement hinges on guaranteeing women’s rights and ensuring equitable opportunities for all.

Tamang highlighted the indispensable role women play as the bedrock of families, communities, and the nation at large. He paid tribute to their significant impact on governance, education, healthcare, business, and social service, stressing the imperative of fostering a nurturing environment conducive to their unhindered advancement.
