PRAYAGRAJ: Following his holy dip in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed his profound spiritual fulfilment. A 72-member delegation from Sikkim followed him, and the experience was once in a lifetime.

CM Tamang said he felt incredibly fortunate to be a part of the holy event, which only happens once every 144 years, making it a unique and rare experience for his group.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, who invited pilgrims from all around India, had organised the visit. CM Tamang thanked Adityanath and expressed his desire to have the whole Sikkim delegation to experience the spiritual significance of the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Over 40 crore devotees have taken a dip at Triveni Sangam by February 7, 2025; 42 lakh individuals had done so before 10 am on that day alone. With 19 days left, it is anticipated that the festival will attract more than 50 crore pilgrims.

With millions of pilgrims, including saints and spiritual seekers, the Maha Kumbh Mela is the biggest religious gathering in the world. Among those in attendance are prominent individuals such as President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

The event continues to captivate people from all walks of life, including celebrities like Saina Nehwal, Suresh Raina, The Great Khali, and others, alongside many senior political figures.
