Sikkim: Higher Educational Institutes to reopen on Nov 23

All the teaching and non-teaching staff are directed to report to their respective colleges on November 23, however, the students can attend the classes with the consent of their parents

Gangtok: The higher educational institutions of Sikkim will reopen on November 23. The Sikkim state government has taken the decision of reopening the higher educational institution with reference to the instructions passed by the Ministry of Education and UGC for reopening of the educational institution during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The notification regarding the reopening of the higher educational institutes was issued by the Director of Higher & Technical Education, Education Department of Sikkim. The notification directs all the teaching and non-teaching staff to report to their respective colleges on November 23. However, the students may attend the classes with the consent of their parents and guardians.

The notification was tweeted by the official Twitter account of Government of Sikkim.

The Transport Department of the Government of Sikkim removed the travel restrictions on the passenger seating capacity in two-wheelers and all the public transport vehicles. The notification issued by the State Transport Authority stated that with the normalisation in the passenger seating capacity in public transport, the normal notified rates will be charged.
