Sikkim:Govt to Provide Free Medicine to Cancer Patients, 500 New Jobs Will be Created

GANGTOK: On June 4, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced that cancer patients in the state would be offered free medicines. He made the announcement while speaking to a crowd during the inauguration of the Ngagyur Palyul Dzongag Zamyangling Institute at the Sribadam Palyul Dechen Gaweling Nyingmapa monastery.

Sikkim's Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, has stated that his administration will create 500 new jobs in each of the state's 32 assembly constituencies. In addition, the chief minister stated that five playgrounds will be erected in each assembly seat to encourage children to participate in sports.

Tamang went on to say that the state government has approved the construction of 11,000 houses at a cost of Rs 17.52 lakh per unit. He also stated that his administration has decided to build 108 government schools with modern amenities.

In addition, he pledged 500 jobs every constituency, for a total of 16,000 jobs in the state. Tamang also announced 11000 rural dwellings worth Rs 17,52,000 apiece, which were approved by the recent cabinet.

Meanwhile, in May, Prem Singh Tamang, the Chief Minister of Sikkim, announced a recruitment campaign for 1000 Sikkim Police officers, with a 50% reservation for women. In Gangtok, the 48th State Day of Sikkim was celebrated to commemorate Sikkim's creation as the 22nd State of the Indian Union.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister stated that Sikkim is now known as one of India's most progressive states due to the abundance of growth opportunities made available in the fields of entrepreneurship development, agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.

Sikkim was named the best-performing state in terms of tuberculosis incidence reduction, and the state is on track to achieve 100% TB-free status by 2025, , Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said.
